Hungarian Revolution:
Began October 22, 1956
Hungarian people revolted against the soviets.
It began when a student was shot in a revolt in Budapest.
A new government formed declared to withdraw from the Warsaw pact, and pledged to re-establish free election.
On November 4th Soviet forces invaded Budapest. By November 22 the revolution was put down.
Czechoslovakia uprising:
In 1968 liberation was being pushed against the communist Czech government.
Although the government issued formal plans to further reforms the Dubcek government still struggled to keep control.
Fearing this would cause Soviet republics to make demands the Soviets decide establish their own government.
The Soviets took over the cities quickly.
By April 1969 the soviets forced Dubcek from power in favor of a more conservative administrator.
